Hello Everyone!  My name is Sarah Larson.  I opened Cutie Pies By Sarah in my home on January 1st, 2009.  I share my home and my shop with my three little cutie pies, Bridget (pictured above), my kitty Pearl and the newest addition, Iggy. ( No pics yet, but he deserves a blog post all his own!).  You may also see or meet my soon to be husband, David.  He hangs out around here sometimes too!

I began my career as a pet stylist nine years ago, at the age of 19 when I moved to Edmonton from Ontario.  Fresh out of high school without a clue what I wanted to be, I answered an exciting ad in the paper, "Kennel Helper Needed".  I always loved animals and had childhood dreams of becoming a marine biologist.  I thought this job would be fun and rewarding.  And luckily, it was just that.  Within 6 months I was no longer working as a kennel technician, I was assisting with the grooming as a full time apprentice.  I realized I loved to groom and learned quickly under the instruction of a grooming perfectionist with over 20 years of experience.  I then went on to work for other grooming salons in the Edmonton area, learning more everyday.

Grooming has become my passion.  I wake up each day looking forward to spending time with each cutie that walks through my door.  Grooming is a lot of fun but I take it seriously.  I promise I will do everything I can to make sure your pets are safe and comfortable and I also promise to deliver only the best of what I have to offer.  I am always trying to be better at what I do for the benefit of the animals I’m trusted with.  That goes for the products I choose to use in the salon, the equipment, and new styling techniques.  Thank you for taking the time to check out my website.  I look forward to meeting new clients, as well as seeing familiar faces again.  To all my clients that have booked so far in my first years of business, I thank you and I thank your little cutie pies for all the kisses, tail wags and smiles.

Below is a picture of me with a stray dog (looked like he had some airedale sprinkled in there!) in Santo Domingo that I would have loved to bring back to Canada.  He was so gentle and loving and followed us around for quite a while.  It was difficult to leave him behind.  The people behind me were from England and said, "He's probably covered in fleas you know!" I told them it didn't matter.  I have hung out with more than 1 flea covered dog in Canada and abroad!
